October event
There’s a Utah Polite Society event at Hendricksen Range on Saturday,
October 4th.
We plan to have two handgun drills, two simulated encounters, a series of
carbine "refresher" exercises, and time a weather permitting, a man on man
shoot-off.
The first handgun exercise will be a practical marksmanship test to
practice the draw and shooting on the move. The second handgun exercise
will be
a simulated defensive encounter recreating a home invasion take-over. The
third exercise will be a standard "Tueller" type drill using a rolling
target. The forth with be a simulated defensive encounter taking place in
a parking garage elevator.
The carbine drills we have planned for this month are refreshers of the
basic skill sets that were covered over the length of the summer.
A review with hands-on practice, deploying the carbine from sling carry,
loading/unloading, and firing from various field positions.
Please bring your handgun, carbine, and related equipment. Bring 50
rounds of pistol ammo (more if you would like to participate in the
shoot-off)and 50 rounds of carbine ammo (bring extra if you
would like to shoot additional exercises or shoot steel after the
exercises).
Set up starts at 8:00 a.m.
New shooter orientation starts at 8:30 a.m.
